Congratulations and well done to Peter Taylor and Mirek Szczepanek who won this year’s Doncaster Congress Swiss Pairs event The Swiss Pairs event was held at the club on Sunday 27th January with 30 pairs competing for the title. The playing format was set at 6 matches of 7 boards each and was expertly Directed by Stuart Davis with scoring ‘one round in arrears’. This means the results of any one round were calculated during the subsequent round of play. Three matches were played before sitting down to a substantial tea.
