Doncaster Bridge Club is implementing a number of important developments over the coming weeks. You will have noticed that the club has been prepared for a major redecoration of all playing and social areas. Already the small downstairs playing room has been converted into a comfortable and pleasant sitting room where members can relax and socialise after an afternoon or evening’s bridge. Redecoration of the main upstairs playing area will take place over the first two weeks of March after which, a new carpet will be fitted to the upstairs playing area. The wooden trophy boards are to be replaced with quality attractive frames containing printed listings of trophy holders. These will be updated annually and fully up to date as at the AGM this year. We are also planning to include new card-table covers as part of the refurbishment process. From Monday 22nd March for two weeks we are running a BridgePad trial. BridgePads are similar to BridgeMates which the club tried out one Friday evening last September. The club will be implementing a new electronic and computerised scoring system in the near future and this trial has been set up to give members a chance to try out the popular BridgePad system which has received a number of very favourable critiques in the past. Information on the BridgePad system can be found here The club has already taken delivery of a new and updated computer system in readiness for the implementation of the electronic scoring system. In addition to the installation of this system the club has also ordered a broadband internet service to be installed mid-March in order to ensure that results continue to be uploaded to the web-site in a consistent and timely manner. Exciting times!!! Oo-oOo-oO
